Travel From Home (TFH) Virtual Event | Travel App and Bucket Lists

Discoverlist, a travel app to share travel experiences and travel tips with friends, family and travel enthusiasts, recently hosted their first virtual event, Travel From Home. On August 15th, 2020, guests who tuned into the virtual Zoom event were transported to different parts of the world. Creating an online community where adventurers, culture lovers, international foodie, and history buffs can connect to educate others about great places they’ve been and hidden gems to see, the Discoverlist travel app is transforming the way we share our travel stories online.

Learning from locals and travel experts who were calling from their home countries, guests were given the unique opportunity to travel, virtually, to different destinations from Mexico, Japan and New York City, to Nigeria, Ghana and Somaliland. Even Discoverlist’s brand ambassador @jhony_i.purice hosted his own breakout room during the virtual event, live from his home country Romania. Giving guests a taste of the incredible architecture and culture Romania has to offer, as well as the delicious local food that you should definitely try while taking in the sights.

Demonstrating how valuable it is to share travel tips, local knowledge and personal experiences, hosts and co-founders, Susana Zazueta and Henry Stanley explained how to download and use the Discoverlist app to inspire others to travel, based on your own trips and experiences. By creating bucket lists during global travel restrictions you can plan, prepare and manifest your next adventure.

Discovering New Destinations With Discoverlist

During the virtual event, the main group took virtual trips to different destinations that they choose when signing up to attend. Warmly greeted by travel gurus, each group was given around 15 minutes to discover the destination and add some adventurous or delicious travel ideas to their Discoverlist bucket lists.

There were also interactive live games to take part in which included a trivia Kahoot quiz that helped participants to soak up all the travel tips and local knowledge that was shared throughout the Discoverlist event. To see whether you’re an experienced citizen of the world, or a new adventurer, take the quiz for yourself below. You can check your answers at the bottom of this blog post.

Explore Africa

During the Discoverlist event, we were transported to Africa, which included mini excursions to Ghana, Nigeria and Somaliland. Providing incredible snapshot travel ideas, hosts, Dzifa, Ababio, Timothy Akanmu and Adan Abbey, introduced guests to the natural beauty that this continent has, the electrifying nightlife to be enjoyed and some pretty unique experiences to try.

From the gravity-defying Daalo Mountains in Somaliland, the 5,000-year-old cave paintings in Laas Geel, also known as the cradle of civilization, and the Champagne nightlife of Nigeria, we were inspired with the incredible detail that the hosts gave about their countries.

For those who have not considered taking a trip to an African country before, listening to the hosts discuss the delicious traditional street food, the idea of having a breakfast of fresh coconuts, and the luxury resorts hidden away in the mountains, who wouldn’t want to explore this incredibly diverse and naturally beautiful continent.
